From the road, you can see that the house actually sits back several hundred feet for privacy. The orchard helps to sheild
the house from view and road noise (though with only 5 homes on this dead-end road, there are not that many people on
the road except during the harvest). You can see the cottage just to the right of the driveway.
This home has quite a bit of history. The original part of the home is over 100 years old! It has been added onto and
upgraded over several additions. The shake siding makes it appear quaint and much smaller than the 1600+ square feet that
it actually emcompasses. The most recent upgrades are the bamboo floor in the kitchen, a new 30 year composition roof, gutters, and dual pane windows.
The kitchen is spacious, with an abundance of cabinets! The gas range and dishwasher were replaced in 2003, adding a more modern touch, and the original oven
makes cooking for a large party a breeze! A pretty view of the orchard and pool from the protected south facing window lets you work while watching swimmers
in the inground pool.
There are two bedrooms and a den, and one and a half bathrooms. The 18' X 24' formal
dining room has a freestanding propane stove(looks like wood burning), and a brick fireplace and hearth are the focal
point of the 24' X 32' living room. You will find a mud porch/laundry room outside the back door.
The master bedroom has lovely old hardwood floors, lots of light from the two windows, and room for a king sized bed, 2 night stands, 2 dressers and a
The second bedroom receives dappled sunshine throughout most of the day. The third bedroom has a full wall of built in cabinets, and is currently used as
a den. It connects to the Master Bedroom, so would make a great baby's room or sitting room if not used as a den.
Custom knotty pine cabinets have been built into both bathrooms for added storage.
This property is only about 3 miles from the Proposed Dixon Downs Racetrack!
